Yes it is, it’s a magic number

In honor of Earth day I’m sharing a sewing project that I made out of recycled materials – t-shirts! I cut them into strips, said a little prayer since this was my first time sewing jersey (rookie) and sent it through my ruffler foot. I went for it and…
Viola!

Oh glorious pile of ruffles.
It’s too bad that my husband doesn’t wear more pink or I could have borrowed HIS old t-shirts. He only has a spare 300 sitting around.
I sewed the ruffles onto a basic skirt design that I made from one of my husbands old t-shirts (the boring white stained variety) and came up with this little number.

We call it a ruffle skirt around here. We’re original like that.
The environment was happy. My gal was happy. And I was happy that I didn’t have to throw my sewing machine out the window.
Stay tuned for more sewing with jersey.
